...my heart is proud...

I woke up this morning so extremely sore and I didn't even dance so I hope your bodies are feeling alright:) But more than being sore I woke up very very proud and so extremly blessed to be a part of your life and a part of this team!!

You guys were beautiful yesterday...Don't forget what it feels like to go in and accomplish a goal that you want!! Always remember to be gracious, kind, and above all PROUD OF YOURSELF!!

"if we should win, let it be by the code, with our faith and our honor held high"

I am pretty excited to see what the next few weeks holds for your guys, but I want you to remember that other teams are going to be working very hard as well. This is a HARD and TOUGH region and it is going to be very close!! I have every bit of faith in you...I BELIEVE in us:)

Keep up the FIGHT ladies and don't back down...ever. And that goes for everything that you want out of this life. I hope yesterday was an ah-ha moment for you in which you could actually feel the power of productive practice and team work, because believe me if you didn't have either of those yesterday wouldn't have gone the way it did!!

SILVERLINE YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE...and I am pretty sure that you felt like a lightening bolt yesterday:

"Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night"

Remember you need to rest today and tomorrow!! NO PRACTICE Monday, but I will see you bright and early Tuesday!! 4 practices until Murray and 8 practices until Region! YOU CAN DO THIS YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Let me know you read this xoxo

...this week...

Hello Ladies!!

Welcome back to School and especially DRILL!! The countdown is beginning and it is a BRAND NEW YEAR...lets start it out fresh, kind, and ready to succeed. I am so excited to really start competing. Remember the next 3 weeks are very busy, but we can do it!! Stay on top of EVERYTHING...eat right, sleep, drink water, wash your hands, and take your vitamins.

This week we will be doing a lot of cleaning. Tomorrow with Jenni you will go over dance and will be running everything:) Work hard...and get back into the drill mentality. See you at 6:00 a.m. ready to go.

You will be performing Dance this Thursday. Everyone must be there. Those in dance come READY at 6:30 p.m. and you may leave after the halftime.

Clearfield this SATURDAY. Make sure that you have everything because we will not be by our home. Please be to the school PROMPTLY at 5:55 a.m. and we will leave on the bus right at 6:00 A.M. YOU MAY SLEEP ON THE BUS. You don't have to come ready, but if you want to that is GREAT:) Make sure you look to the past competition post as to what you need...you also need to bring the following:
  • Spray Bottle for Hair
  • Although we can't have food in the room, make sure you pack some snacks GOOD SNACKS not junk food. Especially some kind of breakfast!! We will probably eat Lunch after Military because all of our other routines are about an hour or a little over an hour a part. SO BRING FOOD...but hide it!!
  • EASY SLIP on shoes that you can put on over your dance shoes as we go over to the gym.
  • Amazing Attitudes!!!
You will be riding the bus back to JDCHS after the competition. Remember we are a KIND TEAM...never act like we are better than anyone else!!!

Tell everyone the following times for Clearfield:
Military: 10:40
Dance: 12:36
Kick: 1:44
Hip Hop: 2:42
Officers: 3:58

LET ME KNOW YOU GOT THIS TODAY!! HAVE A GREAT PRACTICE TOMORROW!!
xoxo Meg...Here is to 2011!!!!

...a new year & new beginnings...

Hello Cute Girls!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I sure hope you have had a wonderful break and I also hope that you have missed drill and are so ready to come back!! I am not sure if you girlies realize that we only have:
  • 13 days until Clearfield
  • 20 days until Murray
  • 27 days until REGION
  • 41 days until STATE
Where did the time go? I am so ready to get going again. I am SO PROUD of the job that you did at Jordan and WE CAN ONLY GO UP FROM HERE. All of the judges (besides that one crazy one that ranked us last in EVERY SINGLE ROUTINE) loved your routines. This is the first time in my coaching career where I wasn't told to change sections or fix certain parts. We were only told to CLEAN STUFF UP AND ATTACK EVERY MOVEMENT WE DO!! That is pretty dang cool!! We scored almost full points in everything, BUT execution and once we clean stuff up that will go up. So I want all of you to be prepared to come to practice ready to clean, clean, clean...I know our favorite, but it will be so awesome when stuff looks and feels AMAZING!!! Here is the low down for the next month and a half. We will still get a calendar out but we know how busy January will get...this is the Drill Team month!! You have to remember to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF: VITAMINS, SLEEP, GOOD HEALTHY FOOD, WATER, WASH YOUR HANDS, ETC. IT IS GOING TO BE BUSY!!!

ON TO THE NEW YEAR...

I love the new year...I love the feeling of having a new beginning. We will be doing a lot of goal setting this upcoming week and I hope to have you stay true to all of the goals that you are setting both on a personal level and on a team level. This is our time ladies...we must come together, be one, and CONQUER!! So please be thinking of goals you want to set for yourself. I am going to briefly go over each routine and what we MUST accomplish!! I know that we can do this ladies...not lets just get our on the gym floor and prove it to everyone especially OURSELVES!!

OFFICERS:
  • Great Job!!! We just need to keep running this one. So excited for you girls!!
HIP HOP:
  • Stay thug
  • Stay tight
  • Just keep running it
MILITARY:
  • CONFIDENCE!!! YOU ALL NEED TO LEARN THAT YOU CAN DO THIS ROUTINE!!
  • Fast Arms both Begin & End
  • Headstands
  • KICKLINE
  • Slow Section After
  • Slow Headstand Section
**They really loved this routine. We just need to be matching on our fast arms, largest amount of comments were towards the kickline, and that you cute, amazing girls looked sacred on the floor...STUFF WE CAN EASILY FIX**

DANCE:
  • Triple
  • Side Leaps
  • Pique Section (Formation/Technique)
  • Triangle Section
  • Fouette Section
  • Fast Leap/Toe Roll Section
  • End
**They LOVED the routine, we just have to clean it up**

KICK:
  • BIGGEST COMPLAINT...DRUM ROLL PLEASE...We need to LIFT HIGHER with the hats. Hence why you need to bring a baseball hat to practice now
  • Matching Kicks
  • Dance Section
**They LOVED this routine...biggest complaint was lifting on the hats**

I am so incredibly proud of this team!! I will tell you that until I am blue in the face. You did such an AMAZING job at Jordan. That was a very hard competition and I am so excited that 3A has brought it this year. It makes the journey much for more fun!! I am so excited to see what 2011 has in store for all of us!! Lets make some incredible memories!! A blink of eye ladies and this will all be behind us...we are already so close to Region and State!! Can you believe that!!! Lets do this ladies and please remember this:

‎"Go out and grasp the seconds of the day as if you had only that day to live. EXPERIENCE & ENJOY the moments of your life. We only have one life to live
SO LIVE IT LIKE A CHAMPION!"

Let me know you read this entire thing by telling me how many Boys Halftimes we have coming up and how many Girls Halftimes we have coming up? AND What do you need to bring to practice? :)

IGNITE THE LIGHT & LET IT SHINE!!!
XOXO-Meg

...a team that can't be beat won't be beat...

SilverLine

We are 2 weeks away from the beginning of our Competition Season. Can you believe it is already here? This team has taught me so much already and I hope that you are also learning many things on this journey: I hope you are learning the importance of teamwork, dedication, heart, soul, and above all love and respect for one another. It is ok to have up's and down's and bumpy roads, it is what you do after that is important. Always remember we can't go through life alone and it is important to ask for help. Always stay positive!! Never walk away from a situation wishing you would have handled it differently. The next 2 weeks will be challenging and oh so much FUN!! Stay in the PROCESS, don't get frustrated, and learn. Step back and watch your team and be so very proud of where you started, where you are right now, and where you are going to go...this Journey is OURS...THE TIME IS OURS.

I don't care about the outcome or how many trophies we get, I care about the experience, being prepared, being dedicated, being respectful of all, being kind, and YOU DANCING WITH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WITH YOUR ENTIRE SOUL AND YOUR WHOLE HEART. That is what I care about...I believe in every single one of you...I believe that you can accomplish ANYTHING that you want to accomplish. I will support your dreams and wishes and I will ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU!!!

Please watch this video...It is a Pre-Game Prayer that Nebraska does and I am kind of loving it...I have an idea for a Pre-Competition thing that we will start Christmas Party Night...

Dear Lord, in the battle that goes on through life,
I ask but a field that is fair,
A chance that is equal with all in the strife,
A courage to strive and to dare:
And if I should win, let it be by the code
With my faith and my honor held high;
And if I should lose, let me stand by the road
And cheer as the winners go by.

So as we embark on the next 2 weeks lets keep our hearts and minds pure and be ready to push ourselves in life, in drill, and in school!! Here is an outlook of the next 2 weeks. I want you to be mentally and physically prepared as best as possible!!
